The social importance of responsible practices is far too high and means a lot to Tara Angkor Hotel and every member of our team.
Tara Angkor Hotel has been
practicing many divers’ environmental friendly projects since it’s opening in
2007. And the management has been actively involved to set up training and monitor
projects evolutions and keeping track of
environment impacts and measurements.
Some of our ongoing projects are recycling; glass, paper/carton, tin cans, plastic, used cooking oil and food wastage are all separated and recycled. Besides a proper maintenance management scheme our technical projects are making use of timers and sensors to turn off lights in public and private areas and we make use of natural daylight and turning of unnecessary lights. Tara’s saltwater swimming pool is build up with chlorinator systems and we regularly monitor the quality of the pool water. All our guestrooms are equipped with magnetic keycard holders to allow the electricity in the room. The housekeeping team recycles amenities and soap bars and they use refillable bottles in guestrooms for soaps and shampoos.
Trainings for management and every team member are
regularly repeated and consist of creating environmental awareness and are encouraged
to ensure that every effort is made to preserve our environment. By switching
off lights and other electrical equipment when not required, turning off hot
and cold taps when not in use and that taps are not left running, windows and
doors are closed especially when air-conditioning is in use, all equipment are
used efficiently and also turned off when not in use and the efficient use of
water is encouraged in all areas.
Our
latest projects have been increasing the use of electronic devises to avoid
paper usage; scanning and storing reservation details on servers, making use of
tablets and laptops for meetings, presentations and trainings. Our housekeeping
team turns of air-conditioning units and unnecessary lights when making up the
guestrooms. The management team has intensified all trainings and continuously
develops research. We have as well appointed an Environment Manager to monitor
and continuously report about our actions and results.
Our
biggest project however is our communication with you, our guest. Therefore we
have set up our Envirotel project to grow as a responsible hotel and maximize
both our internal and external communication. We strive to inform every guest
about the importance of this and what our actions are, we are eager to invite
all of our guests to join in this effort and together really make a difference.
